Museological and Educational Improvement
In the year 2024–2025, I developed a stage of the Museological and Educational Enhancement Project in Museums, supported by the Paulo Gustavo Law of the State of São Paulo, at the Ribeirão Preto Museum of Art (MARP). The proposal focused on active listening and the acknowledgment of the educational practices carried out by the museum’s team, as well as the investigation of their methodologies and everyday challenges, strengthening the museological landscape of São Paulo’s countryside.
During the process, I followed the activities of the educational team, documented mediation practices, observed exhibition setup routines, and engaged in dialogue with cultural agents involved in the museum’s programming. At the same time, I conducted field research at the studio of artist MACALÉ, whose 50-year artistic trajectory spans the fields of popular culture and resistance. This immersion was key to recognizing how the connections between artist, territory, and museum contribute to a sensitive and situated cultural mediation.
Additionally, I participated in a conversation circle with artist Mônica Nador, from JAMAC – Jardim Miriam Arte Clube, a reference space for art and social transformation. The meeting allowed for powerful exchanges on community-based practices and decentralized educational processes, directly resonating with the project’s reflections. The experiences at MARP contributed to the creation of a cultural mediation booklet, consolidating the museum as a center for research and active listening in the interior of the State.
